Sitting at an altitude of 2990m, Rara Lake will mesmerize you with its natural beauty, flora, fauna and opportunities for solitude. To get to Rara Lake from our hotel, we take a short drive to the nearby airport and from there we take a scenic flight to Talchha. The weather conditions in Talchha is really unpredictable, so it is recommended we take the flight early in the morning when the weather is ideal. After getting to Talchha, it is about 2-3 hours of pleasant walk to Rara Lake. There are various things you can do in Rara Lake. You can go boating in the lake and explore around the area. There is a lovely hike up to Murma Top, a vantage point which allows you to see the whole lake, surrounding area and the mountain peaks in distance. Since the lake is inside the Rara National Park area, you can also take pictures of some rare species of birds flying around the region. Overall, the tour to Rara Lake is one you will never forget.
